Case Study 1 – Andamooka Town Management Project

2008 CommiteeEmu Consulting worked collaboratively with the Andamooka Progress and Opal Miners Association (APOMA) to lobby for a Town Manager. Andamooka is not governed by a Local Council and at the time that our services were requested the town was dependent on a local volunteer committee to manage matters such as road maintenance, the public dump, water access etc. To assist them, we held a facilitation session with the APOMA committee, met with various government officials to discuss the need for a Town Manager and developed a report for the committee and presented it to State Government Ministers and Executive Managers. The State Government subsequently agreed to provide funding for the services of a Town Manager who was then employed to assist the community.
