Aboriginal 4 A Dae Cultural Awareness Experience
This popular course is ideal for children and can be delivered at schools, community events and in country. This course provides participants with the opportunity to meet with local Aboriginal people and to experience:
- Welcome to Country
- Smoking ceremony
- Creation stories
- Art activities
- Boomerang throwing activities
- Dance activities
- Face painting
Children and schools particularly enjoy participating in the cultural activities,
Course length: 1 Day (can be extended depending on the number of people attending).
Cost: $12.00 per person (minimum 100 people).
Facilitators: Major Sumner, a respected Ngarrindjeri Elder and Aboriginal people with experience in Aboriginal cultural practices.
Major Sumner is a cultural leader within the Ngarrindjeri nation.

Aboriginal Cultural Awareness – Full Day Course
This one day course begins with a smoking ceremony, welcome to country and personal story by a respected Aboriginal Elder. Participants undertaking this course will gain a better understanding of:
Past and current Aboriginal cultural practices
- Non- Aboriginal culture
- Pre-European colonisation life
- The history of European colonisation
- Facts about the stolen generation
- Aboriginal healing practices
- The health, relationship and service needs of Aboriginal people
Participants will engage in activities, view and learn about the importance of cultural practices, hear Aboriginal people’s personal stories and share experiences.
Course length: 1 Day
Cost: Course fees start from $200.00 per person, (minimum 10 people). Cost includes morning tea, lunch and afternoon tea.
Venue: This course can be run in house or at a hired venue in Adelaide or the South Australian Riverland.
